Brazil Trip Itinerary

Day 1

4:30 pm- leave for RDU airport

5:00 pm- arrive at RDU airport

6:30 pm- Board plane

8:00 pm- Land in Atlanta, Georgia

10:30 pm- Board plane to Brazil

10:55am- Arrive at the Galeao International Airport in Rio

10:30- arrive at Hotel

Day 2

12:00 pm- go to pool

1:00 pm- drive to restaurant for lunch

2:00 pm- drive to Cacuia Cemetery

3:00 pm- drive to Área de Proteção

4:00 pm- Marcello de Ipanema

5:00 pm- drive to a pizzeria and eat dinner

Day 3

8:30 am- Wake up and go down to hotel lobby to eat breakfast

9:30 am- leave for City of Petropolis

10:00 am- arrive at the emperors museum and summer house

11:00 am- Lunch time

12:00 pm- crystal palace

3:00 pm- start driving back to hotel

5:00 pm- dinner at a local steakhouse

8:00 pm- make reservations for tupac for next night

Day 4

10:00 am- wake up and eat breakfast

2:00 pm- pack bags to leave

4:00 pm- check out of hotel and head to Dahrels aunts house in Botafogo

4:45 pm- arrive at Dahrels aunts house

5:30 pm- leave for Tupac restobar

6:00 pm- Eat dinner (Feijoada) at Tupac

10:00 pm- retire and go to sleep

Day 5

9:30 am- leave house for Paraque da Catacumba

9:45 am- arrive at  Paraque da Catacumba

12:00 pm- eat lunch at a local cafe

1:00 pm- explore rest of the garden

4:00 pm- leave and head to a mall to go shopping

7:00 pm- eat dinner and head back to house

7:30 pm- arrive back at botafogo and the house

Day 6

9:30 am- wake up and eat breakfast

10:00 am- begin to prepare food for new years feast

12:00 pm- eat lunch

1:00 pm- relax, play board games, etc.

11:30 pm- eat new years feast

12:00 am- Partied and had a huge festival on the beach. Celebrated the new year!

2:00 am- head home and sleep

Day 7-

10:00 am- wake up and pack for beach

1:30 pm- leave for  Praia de Copacabana

7:00 pm- leave beach and head home

10:00 pm- bedtime

Day 8-

10:00 am -wake up and eat breakfast

12:00 pm- got to the Christ Redeemer

1:00 pm- went to a local restaurant in Rio to eat lunch

5:00pm- we left Rio to go home

6:00pm- we got to Tupac and got seated

6:30pm- we got our food and eat our supper

7:30pm- we left Tupac to go home and relax before night time

10:30pm- we went to bed for the night

Day 9-

10:00 am- Wake up and have breakfast

11:45 am - headed down to Rio so that we could explore the city.

1:00 pm- Entered the National Museum of Brazil.

2:00pm - Had lunch

3:00 pm- explored more of the museum.

4:00 pm- Drove home.

4:30 pm- Ate at a local pizzeria.

5:30 pm- Arrived home.

10:00 pm- bedtime.

Day 10-

10:30 am- Woke up and had breakfast.

11:20 am- Drove down to Sugarloaf Mountain.

11:30 am- Ate a midday snack and enjoyed theveiw.

12:00 pm- Started up the mountain.

12:45 pm- Got to the top of the mountain ( by taxi) and prepared to hang glide.

1:00 pm- Hang gliding for 30 min!

1:30 pm- Took a break for a snack

2:00 pm- Hang glided for 30 more min!

2:45 pm- Made our way down the mountain.

3:00 pm- Ate at a local restaurant

4:00 pm- Made our way home.

4:45 pm- Arrived home and watched cool videos of us flying around.

6:00 pm- Had a light dinner

8:00 pm- Watched movie and headed to bed.  

Day 11-

8:00am- we woke up and eat

9:00am- we left for Sugar loaf Mountains

11:00am we left the mountains to drive to the beach

11:30am- we got hungry and stopped for lunch

12:00pm- we got to the beach and started having fun

4:30pm- we eat our supper that we brought with us

5:00pm- we left the beach and started the drive back to the hotel

10:30pm- we got to our hotel and all took showers

11:00pm we all went to bed for the day

Day 12-

6:00am- we woke up and had breakfast

7:30am- we packed our bags and drove down to Sao Paulo

1:45pm- we reached Sao Paulo and checked into the hotel

2:00pm- we explored the city and everything it had to offer

6:00pm- we went out to eat supper

7:00pm- we arrive back home after supper and start relaxing before bed

11:00pm- we all go to bed

Day 13-

10:45am- Woke up and packed our bags.

11:30 am- Had breakfast at the hotel.

11:45am- Stayed at the hotel until 3 O’clock.

3:00pm- Checked out of the hotel and headed to the airport.

4:00pm- Waiting for our 5:00 flight.

5:00pm- Boarded the plane and got ready for take off

5:15pm- Take off to Florida!

12:15am(The next day)- arrived in Miami, Florida.

3:00am(The next day)- Arrived home to RDU!

Why Brazil?

Brazil is one of the most historical countries in the western hemisphere. There are so many different options to go, and in Rio de Janeiro, there is more to do than in nearly any city you go to anywhere in the world. Sugarloaf mountain, various beaches, the surrounding environment, and the world famous Christ Redeemer statues. Outside Rio, there are also great cites such as the Crystal Palace. New Years is one of the most exciting events that take place in Brazil, another must see event.

Brazilian culture is another aspect of why Brazil is a must on a to-do list. One of our favorite parts was the food. The Brazilian food tasted so much different from what we were used to, but in a good way. You may find Brazilian restaurants in America, but you will never be able to experience the taste of it if you were to be in Brazil. Their motivation to the soccer team is like no other, they love the Brazilian national team, through good through bad. Overall, it is a very culturally diverse country.

So, Brazil has something for everybody, sports, relaxation, fun, sightseeing, and historical sites. That is why everybody, no matter what you are into, is a must see.

Day 13 flight home

Day 13-7th

Overview of our day:

Today was the most relaxed day of all. We woke up very late because we were all very tired. We had breakfast in the hotel at around 11:30. We then went back to the room to sleep a little more and watch movies. We stayed at the hotel the rest of the day because we were all very, very tired. We had snacks for lunch. We went to the airport at 3:30 to catch our 5:00 flight. When then took off for the U.S. Our flight back was similar to the flight here. We stopped in Miami, Florida for 2 hours then flew to RDU. That concluded our 2 weeks in Brazil.
