Day 3 Into the city

Day3-28th: The city of Petropolis

Overview of our day:
Culture experience

We slept in to around 8:30 am and had a big breakfast at the hotel. When we left the hotel it was 78 and rainy.  After we had our fill we started the drive up to the city of Petropolis. When we got there, we visited the museum of the emperor that used to live there. We also got to check out where his “summer house” was! After we grabbed some lunch, we went to a beautiful crystal palace and stayed in the area until it got dark. When we were making our way home, we stopped by a steakhouse to eat many different and tasty meats. We drove back to the hotel and slept a good night’s sleep. We made a reservation for tomorrow night at Tupac.

Places we went:

Crystal Palace: cost 324 dollars a person plus 10 for gifts in the shop

Day 2 Arrival

Day 2-  27th: Our First Adventure
The Natural environment and ecosystem vist

We arrived in Rio at 10:55 on the 27th of December. Once we checked in at our hotel (Linx Hotel International Airport Galeão), we relaxed and enjoyed the view and slept for a while. When it was about midday, we went to the pool to relax and have fun in the now warm winter. After it passed 1, we drove to a restaurant to eat a yummy lunch. After eating lunch we drove down to Cacuia Cemetery and stayed there for a while. When we left, we visited the Área de Proteção. The last stop of our day was at Parque Marcello de Ipanema. We left there around closing time and drove up to Pizzaria ate a big supper. After stuffing ourselves with pizza, we retired to our hotel for the night. That day was 76 degrees fahrenheit, cloudy and raining on and off all day

Costs:

Food: 10 dollars for lunch each- 50 total

Supper: 5 for pizza a person so a total of $25

Hotel: $198 a night- Total is $594

Day 1 The Journey begins

Day 1-  December 26th The Journey Begins

Overview of the Day:

Today we went to RDU around 5:00 pm on December 27 to catch our 6:30 pm Flight to Atlanta. The flight was about 1 hour and 30 minutes. We arrived in Atlanta at 8:06 pm. While in Atlanta we had 2 hour delay, while we were waiting for our next flight we shopped around in the airport, and then we ate dinner. Then about 10:19 pm we boarded our plane and had about 9 hour and 46 minute long flight. During that flight we slept and watch the inflight movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes. We arrived at the Galeao International Airport in Rio at 10:55 Am. It was 80 degrees fahrenheit and partly cloudy. It was raining early that day so it was wet  

Costs:

Flight - 1,206.53 for 5 people so 603.65 dollars for the flight

Food- 10 dollars per person total of 50 dollars

The Meal:

We eat at a local Subway in Atlanta and had peanuts on the airplane.
